Luftrausers PC

  • Release Date:
  • Developer: Vlambeer
  • Summary:

  • Luftrausers is an arcade-style aerial combat shooter where ace pilots will be able to customize their own "rauser" and battle wily enemy fighters amongst the clouds or charge colossal battleships scattered across the open seas.

Completely freaking worth the purchase. Yes, it's a pure arcade-style game with random
enemies and one setting/stage for ten bucks, but the mechanics are so fine-tuned, the aesthetic's so unique, the crazy color palettes are just insane, and the part combinations make it very replayable. My favorite thing to do is just play the game with all random parts - just restarting with a new build each time. With just that one stage, I've put more hours into this than I did with Assassin's Creed IV, so that's something.

The real enjoyment in Luftrausers doesn’t really come from experimenting, it’s more about finding the right fit. It’s really about performance, not options, and the game’s longevity and value come from excellent tuning and feedback. You launch, then you thread the needle, push the envelope, curse your foes, and go out in a blaze of glory.

ETHER One PC

Release Date:
Developer: White Paper Games
Summary:

Ether One is a first person adventure that deals with the fragility of the human mind. There are two paths in the world you can choose from. There is also a deeper, more adventurous path in which you can complete complex puzzles to restore life changing events of the patients history in order to help the validation of their life. The choice is left to you.

Ether One is the first game in a long time to challenge my problem solving. Ether One tests the player in a such a way as not to slow the pace down to a halt. Stuck on a puzzle - no problem, you can continue to explore and take in the deep and touching story at your own pace. This makes Ether One a suitable game for players of all skill levels. With a beautifully simple control set and an ingenious approach to inventory and item management/collecting. Many players will find themselves with a curious collection of items in their possession which will bring out the hoarder in everyone!

I highly recommend this game to seasoned and new gamers alike.

Resident Evil 4: Ultimate HD Edition PC

Release Date:
Developer: Capcom

Summary:

In Resident Evil 4, Special Agent Leon S. Kennedy is dispatched on a mission to rescue the U.S. President’s daughter who has been kidnapped. Wending his way to a rural village in Europe, he faces new threats that are a departure from the traditional lumbering zombie enemies of the earlier installments in the series. Leon battles horrific new creatures infested by a new threat called Las Plagas and faces off against an aggressive group of enemies including mind-controlled villagers that are tied to Los Illuminados, the mysterious cult which is behind the abduction.

Arguably the best Resident Evil game made so far brought to Steam with Achievements, high defiition textures and the same ass-kicking factor as the game had on its release for only 20 god damn dollars?

This time, the conversion of this classic is loyal to the original game published in 2005 on GameCube. Even if this is a lazy port, technically speaking, it is still one of the best survival horror games ever made, and you ought to play it if you didn't before. Period.

Half Minute Hero: The Second Coming PC

Release Date:
Developer: Opus

  • Summary:
  •  You have 30 seconds to save the world....again. Half Minute Hero: The Second coming is the bigger and badder sequel to the world' fastest RPG. Finally available outside Japan exclusively on Steam. Find a quest, level up, equip some loot, and slay the Evil Lord, all in half a minute.

Awesome sequel.
Even though I still agree hmh 1 was better and had the certain charm. You just can't justify giving this game a below 8
 score!!

for me Hmh1 was just better because the idea was new. I think it's quite hard to make a sequel to games with a certain gimmick. Adding a lot of cool new stuff is hard in a game totally based on the '30 second' idea.

I still adored the art, music and the bosses, and i'll probably find myself grinding and speedrunning again! certainly worth it. And big thumbs up to teh developers to give the permanent 25% off for hmh1 owners (steam)

Strider PC

Release Date:
Developer: Double Helix Games

Summary:

Originally released in 1989, Strider remains one of Capcom's most enduring franchises. The game tells the story of Hiryu, the youngest ever "Super A" ranked agent of an elite corps known as the Striders. Strider Hiryu receives orders to assassinate Grandmaster Meio, supreme dictator of Earth, who has plunged humanity into a dystopian dark age.

They took the classic Strider Arcade Gameplay and combined it with a Super Metroid like Gameplay. The end result is close to perfection.Fantastic job to the developers. I cannot find any real flaws with it, right now. Yes its retro but its done remarkably well. Now, if only they would be willing to make a "Ninja Warriors Again" using this gameplay style.

Best reboot of a game I have played in years. Double Felix got it right! This feels and plays like the Original from 1989. The music isawesome , sound and effects are all topnotch. The price is also fair for being an arcade game . Instant buy!

Child of Light PC

  • Release Date:
  • Developer: Ubisoft Montreal

  • Summary:
  • Child of Light is a digital download, 2D side-scrolling role-playing game inspired by the art style of Studio Ghibli.

Great game. Took me some time to get into it but it was worth it. Interesting story, its like one of those fairy-tails told to kids. Yourcompanions are great and there are many of them to chose from. Combat can get annoying at times. Bit on the short side for an rpg.

Mercenary Kings PC

Release Date:
Summary:

Craft your arsenal to avenge your fallen comrades and save the world from the fearsome forces of CLAW. Save the world. In this frantic 2D action game, you are part of the Mercenary Kings, the most skilled team of warriors-for-hire on Earth. When your comrades have fallen and the fearsome forces of CLAW have seized an island-wide top secret Laboratory Base, you must do what it takes to stop them. But you're not going in unprepared - as backup you've got a crew of rogue geniuses and experts in their field. Able to craft and customize guns'n'blades or upgrade your body armour, you've never been this ready to join the fight.

Now, I'm the first to admit that I was skeptical of this game at first, retro graphics are a bit of a fad, and, it seemed like they took some old game-play and slapped a poorly thought crafting system onto it. But even as a beta, the game is showing a lot of promise with a robust weapons crafting system, a decent soundtrack, a fair price, surprisingly good art design, and solid controls. Now, keep in mind this was written while the game is in beta. But even in beta this game is definitely worth it

Tower of Guns PC

Release Date:
  • Developer: Terrible Posture Games

  • Summary:
  • Tower of Guns is a fast paced first-person-shooter for the twitch gamer... with a few randomized elements to keep it fresh with each playthrough.

A fairly hard fps rogue-like, very enjoyable and quite impressive for a one man dev project.

Only negatives I have about the game at themoment is no multiplayer and the collections don't tell you what they do.

Joe the dev is active on his forum and interacting with the community which is nice to see, and the humor also reminds me of portal.

I expected an indie fps rogue-like and I got one, I'd be interested to see what kind of game Joe makes next.

Now you didn't see me hunt these hug-bots for loot.

Escape Goat 2 PC

  • Release Date:
  • Developer: MagicalTimeBean

  • Summary:
  • Escape Goat 2 is a puzzle platformer game where you use machinery, the environment, and a friendly mouse to progress through a dungeon.

  • I absolutely loved Escape Goat, and I am happy to see more of it now. Escape Goat 2 is basically more of the same, which is not a bad thing. It offers a nice balance of platforming and solving intelligent puzzles. The controls and mechanics are just great. Really nothing to complain about here.

  • The difficulty is very low in the first few levels and always gets a little higher from level to level. Nobody should have any problems getting into the game. And yet it is quite challenging later on. Escape Goat 1 offered some high difficulty levels after beating the campaign. I expect the successor to offer the same (I didn't finish it yet, so I just can assume it will).

  • The main difference to the first part is the graphics style. Instead of the basic pixel art we got in Escape Goat 1, this game now uses a new high definition graphics style, which many people will like. I personally prefer the old art style, but I am fine with either of them. The most important thing for me is, that the controls didn't change at all. Despite the new graphics the game feels absolutely like the first part. Not all games manage to do that.

  • I like it a lot. Both Escape Goat games are real indie gems. You will enjoy your time.

Wargame: Red Dragon PC

Release Date:
  • Developer: Eugen Systems

Summary:
The Wargame series returns to duty, larger, richer and more spectacular than ever before. In Wargame Red Dragon, you are engaged in a large-scale conflict where Western forces clash against the Communist bloc.

This game is incredible. The graphics have been enhanced immensely and the game looks incredible. The new units and the ships are very fun to play and add a new dimension to the game.

The old spam tactics from Airland battle are completely gone now due to the many new changes to the units, the mechanics, and the balance.

The game is even more tactical and the large maps add a whole new strategic dimension to the game.

The new factions are all unique in their own way and add alot of character to the game.

The best strategy game without any doubt since both multiplayer and single player are now extremely fun and provide many many hours of gameplay.

The best RTS on the market!

Warlock 2: The Exiled PC

  • Release Date:
  • Developer: Paradox Interactive

  • Summary:
  • Warlock 2 is a turn-based strategy game of fantasy warfare. Rival against Great Mages, lead mighty armies into fierce battles, wield ancient magic, use cunning diplomacy and faith as your weapons. Experience the challenge in single or multiplayer.

Warlock 2 is a challenging game and gives a enjoyable experience to players. It's a riveting game to enjoy with friends as its quick paced and easy to understand. Although coming out the exact same time Age Of Wonders 3 did gave it a rocky start as Age of Wonders 3 is also an amazing game but more indepth and requires more patience to play. It really depends on your preferences I purchased both games and enjoy them both but Warlock 2 has a skirmish vibe while Age of Wonders 3 has a more campaign feel to it.

This game overall is fun but it will test your skills as you get overwhelmed often. So best of luck on the fields of battle :)
