Some of you may be old enough to remember Carmageddon from 1997,
a racing game set in a post-apocalyptic world, which made headlines
due to its level of violence back in the day. After many sequels later,
the original game has finally been ported over to the mobile platform.
The iOS version of this game was launched back in October 2012,
and now we have it on Android.
Graphics
For a game made almost two decades ago, Carmageddon still looks rather good today, albeit a lot more polished. Not the best graphics out there, but it’s definitely able to hold its own, considering how detailed and vast each track is.
Gameplay
Carmageddon still is one of the best car combat games. Using a checkpoint system, you race around to either finish the course, destroy your opponent’s vehicles or just mowing down every pedestrian. Squishing the hapless people gives you more time to complete whatever you’re doing, so while you can put your mind on finishing the race or putting your rival out of commission, indulge in some hit and runs for some more time. There’s much to do, and it won’t be much of a grind. Play with the crazy physics or rewatch part of your run with an instant replay and you’ll be number one in no time.
Conclusion
The physics in the game is still some of best out there, and soon you’ll learn how to work it like a pro. With various unique levels and challenges that you can put your skills to the limit to, there will be much fun to be had.
